Stevens Ideal 44 1/2 22LR 24" Half Octagon Barrel

Stevens 44 1/2 Ideal 22lr rifle. Manufactured from 1903 to 1933. This rifle features combination bead/hooded pinhead front, rear barrel dovetail has a filler present and an aftermarket Vernier tang peep sight. The upper top barrel flat is marked with the two line J. Stevens A. & T. address and the upper left flat is marked "22 L.R." Blue finished with a casehardened receiver, "S" shaped lever, single trigger and crescent buttplate, and it is fitted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock.

This rifle retains 80% of the original blue finish with 80% case colors on the frame with some overall light handling/storage marks. There is some pitting in the bore just in front of the chamber indicative of corrosive ammunition use. The buttplate and lever are mostly a brown patina. The wood is very fine with some scattered minor scratches and dings. Mechanically excellent.
